1. WHAT IS DREAM BY LUXURY ESCAPES MAGAZINE? WHO IS IT FOR AND WHAT DOES IT COVER?
Dream by Luxury Escapes is a luxury travel magazine but one that defines luxury by more than just the threadcount of your hotel linen. We do have amazing high-end stays, many of which are also partners who work with Luxury Escapes on our much-loved deals, but we also include immersive experiences like getting up close and personal with wildlife and nature, dining at the world’s most innovative restaurants and the pure indulgence of a fly-and-flop holiday in places like the Maldives, Bali and Thailand.
2. WHAT CAN READERS EXPECT FROM DREAM BY LUXURY EC MAGAZINE IN THE COMING MONTHS?
Having just turned one, we are planning a massive second year. We will be going on safari in South Africa, we will be taking a peek inside of one Asia’s grand dame properties – Raffles Phnom Penh – and its sister property in Siem Reap and we will explore a brand-new stay on the Greek island of Folegandros. We will be toasting to the best of Berlin on the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall, we will be cruising around Croatia and getting our chill on with a trip to Bhutan. Plus, we have all our regular features with the most creative chefs, the edgiest bartenders and the most in-the-know locals telling us the top places to add to our travels.
3. HAS COVID IMPACTED YOUR APPROACH TO THE MAGAZINE OR WHAT READERS WANT FROM THE MAGAZINE?
Only in the sense that we are celebrating the global return of travel. The rationale behind relaunching Dream by Luxury Escapes was the strength of the bounceback of travel in Australia post Covid-19. Luxury Escapes’ annual Travel Trends survey in 2023 (surveying 4000 Luxury Escapes members) showed that our members were more motivated to book a holiday than even before and the company saw a 56 per cent increase in Luxury Escapes sales in 2022 compared to a pre-pandemic high in 2019.
4. IF DREAM BY LUXURY ESCAPES MAGAZINE HAD A MOTTO, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
On our cover we have: A BETTER WAY TO TRAVEL. What that means to us is that we can inspire and assist our readers to get the best out of their next travel adventure.
5. IF YOU COULD BE ANYONE FAMOUS FOR A DAY, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
I would be Tao Huabi, the woman behind Lao Gan Ma Spicy Chilli Crisp oil and the stern face on each delicious jar. Then I could memorise the recipe and save myself a fortune on condiments.
